Eyelash Extensions

before and after eyelash extensions nyc

What are eyelash extensions? Eyelash extensions are synthetic silk strands of hair, individually attached to your natural eyelash using a special bonding agent. The extensions are applied approximately (1)mm away from the skin, never coming into contact with it. Learn how to grow and strengthen your natural eyelashes with Lash Dr.

JJ Eyelashes provides a consultation, where the client and technician will customize your lashes before the service. Together we discuss your expectations and determine the type of lashes that are suited best for you and your lifestyle. The lashes are pre-curled and come in different lengths, thicknesses and colors. The procedure is very relaxing, never rushed; We work every set of lashes to perfection. The result is truly amazing and we promise you will love your new lashes!

Each set is customized to our client’s natural eye shape. The set chosen during the consultation depends on how many natural eyelashes you have. You then have the option to upgrade for a fuller set depending on your desired look.

  • Ruby Set (80 pieces per eye)
  • Diamond Set (100 pieces per eye)

Eyelash Extension After Care

Although this procedure is no more damaging to applying mascara, we urge you to check with your doctor first for allergies, especially if you have a history of eye disease.

icon1  Remove all eye make-up and clean your lashes with a mild, oil-free cleanser. Do NOT use oil-based make up removers.

icon2  Do NOT apply mascara; Removal takes additional time.

icon3  Do NOT curl your lashes.

icon4  Contact lenses must be removed prior to procedure.

icon5  We suggest bringing a personal music player.  This is a relaxing, sleep inducing beauty treatment.  Talking should be kept to a minimum, as this procedure requires optimum precision. Relaxed facial muscles ensure maximum results in minimal time.

Now that you have an amazing set of eyelash extensions, it’s up to you to maintain them. Following the below maintenance guidelines will help keep them looking fresh and increase longevity.

icon-1  Avoid getting your new lashes wet for the at least 6 hours after application

icon-2  Avoid extreme heat, swimming, steam rooms and hot saunas for the next 48-72 hours.

icon-3  Do not use oil-based products, eyelash curlers, perm or tint the lash extensions; This will break the bond.

icon-4  Mascara will dissolve the adhesive, but if you simply must use mascara for a special occasion and such, use only water-based mascara.

icon-5  Gently remove eye makeup with oil-free cleansers.

icon-6  Avoid rubbing your eyes and do not attempt to pull off loose lash extensions.

icon-7  After you shower, gently pat your lashes dry with tissue and use an eyelash comb to groom any stray lashes, carefully and gently, only when needed.

icon-8  DO NOT attempt to remove your lash extensions yourself.  Let them fall out naturally or let us professionally remove them with a special remover.

Eyelash Extensions FAQ

icon q 1How are eyelash extensions applied? Do they damage my natural lashes?

Synthetic lashes are attached individually to your own lashes using a special adhesive, (1)-mm away from the skin. The application of extensions is no less damaging than applying mascara.

icon q 2How long do they last?

Extensions can last up to 3-6 weeks, with proper aftercare. Since natural lashes fall daily (the extension attached), it is recommended to come every two weeks for maintenance.

icon q 3Can I use an eyelash curler and mascara?

It is not recommended to use a curler or mascara, as the mascara will interfere with the adhesive and the curler will damage the extensions.

icon q4How are eyelash extensions removed?

Lashes are removed by our technicians using a professional remover. Do not pick at lashes, as they will fall off with the natural lash.

icon q 5How do I care for my lashes in between visits?

By avoiding extreme heat, swimming, & steam rooms for the first 48hrs, you automatically preserve the life of your lashes. Use oil-free cleansers when removing eye make-up, as the oil will dissolve the adhesive. After showering, pat lashes dry with a tissue and use an eyelash comb to groom carefully when needed. It is recommended to use an oil-free makeup remover wipe to remove make-up and dirt.

icon q 6Will I be charged for cancelling my appointment?

Due to the high volume of bookings, we have initiated a 100% cancellation fee for both eyelash extensions, permanent makeup, and spa services. Please honor your appointment and if you must cancel, do so at least 6 hours prior to your appointment to avoid charges. We request a credit card to keep on file for any cancellations that are made less than 6 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. If you choose not to provide your credit card information, we will not be able to confirm or hold your appointment.
